Image Credits

MViking uses original images, commissioned illustrations, public-domain media, Creative Commons media, and properly licensed stock or museum images.

Rules

• Every non-original image must be checked for license, source, author, and attribution requirements.
• Images from Wikimedia Commons must be verified on the file page before publication.
• Images must be uploaded to the WordPress media library instead of hotlinked when possible.
• Captions should identify the object, place, creator or source, and license where required.
• AI-generated or reconstructed images must be labeled when they could be mistaken for historical evidence.
